The Frontline Story
My name is Heather, and I started Frontline Cafe and Bakery as a hobby! I was working as a paramedic for Fall River EMS for 6 years (2015-2021). During the worst of COVID-19, I needed an outlet from all the negativity and tragedy I endured daily. I began baking because it calmed my anxiety and gave me something positive to focus on! I needed something to take my mind off what was happening in this crazy world. I started with chocolate treats, and then when I started making cupcakes, I became amazed and obsessed with the science behind all of the ingredients that went into recipes. Naturally, I started creating my own recipes.
I spent hours upon end inside my kitchen trying different recipes until my taste buds were impressed! I discovered that my passion for baking was far more than just a hobby! I took a massive leap and quit my job, took a bunch of classes, moved closer to family, and began working for South Shore Health for a much more tolerable schedule! I have been able to focus all of my extra time on my baking!
In my line of work, I was always there on people’s worst days, and even though we help a lot of people (which I am so proud of), the secondary trauma takes a significant toll on the first responder's mind. I went into a dark place. Baking got me out of some places that I never wanted to be. With this new adventure of mine, I get to be a part of the people’s best days! I get to share in their birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers, and so many other special occasions.
I take every custom order personally, and I think that is what makes baking so fulfilling.

Frontline Cafe & Bakery will be more than just a café and bakery. It will be a place where people can come to feel safe, happy, and relaxed - a place where people can find comfort in the smiles of others. I have big things planned for Frontline, including an outlet for others who may be in a similar position I found myself before.

I am looking forward to being a part of the West Bridgewater and surrounding community. I can’t wait to meet everyone, and I am so excited for this next chapter!
